Photo Friday: Full of Hot Air

Hot-air balloon parade over the Ottawa River
Perhaps the most charming part of our recent Labour Day Weekend getaway to Ottawa, Ontario, was our inadvertent participation in the 2009 Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival.
No matter where we were in the city at what time, the balloons eventually came into view: Friday night they drifted overhead as we ate dinner at the Empire Grill in the ByWard Market; early Saturday morning they cruised through our panoramic view from a corner suite on the fifteenth floor of the downtown Marriott; Sunday afternoon we watched them draw ever closer to our perch above the locks that step their way down to the Ottawa River; and Monday at dawn we saw them rise from the valley and into full flight as we packed for home.
